The groundbreaking ceremony of the five hundred million Naira 3D Medical Laboratory Building donated by Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiatives (of BUA GROUP), has been described as "promised fulfilled " by the Chairman Board of Trustees of Crescent University, Abeokuta-Prince Adesegun Ajibola, SAN
Recalling the visit made by the ASR Africa Initiatives in 2023 led by the Managing Director, Dr. Udoh Ubong, Prince Ajibola, said he strongly aligned with the vision and saying of the late founder, H.E. Judge Prince Bola Ajibola that "money itself has no meaning, if it does not have positive impact on the society "
The import of the statement is in the groundbreaking ceremony, which has been described as a precursor to the establishment of a college of medicine that would help the students and ultimately humanity.
Dr. Udoh Ubong, in his speech, declared that the ASR Africa Initiatives educational intervention programme in Crescent University is part of the thirty Universities in Africa and beyond benefiting from the educational intervention programmes.
The ASR Africa Initiatives consider a wide ranged criteria amongst the National University Commission's accredited courses, quality of management team and students' performance in various disciplines within and externally.
He affirmed that the 3D laboratory project will meet quality standards and speed ASR AFRICA Initiatives are known for within six months.
Recounting on the successes of the University in the past twenty years, Professor Ibraheem Gbajabiamila expressed that the vision of gender balance on students intake which was in the ratio of 70/30 male/female has been met and surpassed as the institution now has a ratio of 80/20 female/male intakes.
Equally the vision of the Founder, H.E Prince Bola Ajibola, SAN in assisting younger generations in pursuit of educational attainment, is being fully fulfilled while the nursing programme has been accredited.
Giving the vote of thanks, the University Registrar, Barrister Zakariyyah Ajibola, intoned that the event was "another milestone in the history of the Institution, hence their hearts and lips were full of appreciation to the donor Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu (GCON), a philanthropist par excellence.
Earlier, Dr. Ubong had applauded the University for giving ASR AFRICA Initiatives the opportunity to add to the increasing number of philanthropists on campus to which ASR AFRICA Initiatives is a ready partner.
Present at the epoch making event were 3-man team FROM ASR AFRICA-Mr Abubakar Shamsudeen, Technical Assistant to the MD ASR,Mr Philip Nwosu of Corporate Communications ASR, and MissPelewura Kiibati of Media and Branding ASR, the Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre-Prof Adewale Musa-Olomu who was represented. Notably, the Head of Mass Communication Department Dr. Kola Adesina and PR/Communication Expert Dr . Sade Adebimpe were present along with the Managing Director, PR PRIMUS LTD- Public Relations company led by a Fellow of the Institute, Mr Akin Okudero and other media personalities from Platform Times and Edu-Business News graced the occasion.
