*OGUN NIPR JOINS FAMILY, FRIENDS TO CELEBRATE LATE MRS OGUNBIYI. By Tunwase Dokunmu


As part of activities marking the funeral rites for a former Chairman, Ogun State Chapter, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, late Mrs Doyinsola Ogunbiyi, a memorial service of songs was organized in her honour at Citadel of Global Community Church, Lagos, where the Chapter was represented to join family and friends in celebration of her impact in the profession. 
 In her tribute, the Chairman Ogun State Chapter, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Mrs Oluwaseun Boye, described the late icon as a beacon of excellence, integrity and service, affirming that her tenure as the Chairman of the Chapter was characterized by innovation, professionalism and a deep commitment to the growth of public relations in Ogun State.
Mrs Boye also identified the veteran as a woman of faith, a compassionate guide and a source of wisdom to many whose contributions to the growth of NIPR, Ogun Chapter, would remain evergreen, saying, "she broke barriers, inspired generations and left an indelible mark on the profession."
In his sermon, the Founder, Citadel of Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, said abundant life in Christ is not trouble-free, rather, it is having peace in the midst of crisis where believers can live natural life supernaturally. 

He disclosed that late Mrs Doyin Ogunbiyi demonstrated her love for God and humanity, while her foot print in the public sector was an extension of her impact on family life, having raised her children to become model citizens.
In celebration of her legacy and contributions to the growth of public relations practice, a powerful delegation from Ogun State Chapter witnessed the service of songs, part of whom are, Mr Akin Okudero, Prince Femi Dokunmu, both past Chairmen of the Chapter and Mr Owolabi Onajobi, past Vice-chairman of the Chapter. 

Others are, Mr. Tunwase Dokunmu, Assistance Secretary, Mr. Bukola Akinrinde, Mrs Osita Ogochukwu and Mrs Olatunji Oluwagbemisola, while a host of colleagues and proteges from other professional bodies also participated in the celebration.
Born on March 25, 1954 in Abeokuta, Ogun State, late Mrs Doyinsola Ogunbiyi was the first female Chairman Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Ogun State Chapter, 1984 to 1997, Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC), a three-time Commissioner, Ogun State Ministry of Youth and Sports (1996 to 1997), Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development (1997-1998) and Ministry of Works and Housing (1998-1999). 

A sought after public speaker, Late Mrs Doyinsola Ogunbiyi was a one time Chairman, Board of Directors, Ogun State Television and Chairman Ogun State Board of Technical and Vocational Education as well as a member of numerous professional bodies and multiple award winner in her life time.
