Women Must Learn To Tell Their Stories - Dr. Joke Akinosi It was a resourceful session at the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Ogun State Chapter's business meeting where PR Practitioners gathered to enrich themselves. Leading the discourse of the day on the topic- Women, Leadership, and Reputation Management in the Financial Sector: The PR Perspective - was Dr. Mrs Joke Akinosi, the South West Zonal Head of Zenith Bank.

 The guest speaker advised women to be transparent, open, and go the extra mile to prove themselves. Speaking further, Dr. Akinosi said that even though women face a lot of challenges such as undue scrutiny, double standards, and emotional stress, she affirmed that they should be bold and focused. In telling their stories, the Zenith banker encouraged women to not only substantiate their claims and not give to frivolities.

 Leadership is not just about decision-making nowadays, but the need to embrace PR as a leadership tool. Acquiring and maintaining professional digital skills and presence and navigating challenges with confidence are very key in managing crisis. Butressing her view, she contended that women in leadership positions face more challenges than men, however, such individuals like Okonjo Iweala of the World Trade Organisation, Kemi Adeosun, former Minister of Finance and a host of others are still holding their owns in the world. She concluded, despite all these hurdles in life, particularly the daunting task of balancing their professional and family roles, that women cannot shy away from providing mentorship to their children, youths, and society.
